Casting news

WITH the release of the the first photo, casting has been announced for the world premiere of The Crown Dual.

A new comedy from parodic mastermind Daniel Clarkson, co-creator of Olivier Award-nominated hit shows Potted Potter and Potted Panto, it runs at the King’s Head Theatre from March 12 to April 6, 2019.

Two actors – Rosie Holt and Brendan Murphy – reimagine the story of how Elizabeth Windsor became Queen Elizabeth II (and recreate two resplendent Netflix series) in 70 minutes of frenetic hat-passing, period accents and corgi impressions.

Rosie Holt is a rising star of the comedy scene, having appeared in two acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows last summer. Brendan Murphy regularly appears in Potted Potter, is one half of cabaret duo The Crooners, and starred as Token Guy in King Kong (A Comedy), also written by Dan Clarkson and directed by Owen Lewis.

Produced by James Seabright, The Crown Dual is directed by Owen Lewis, who received an Olivier Award nomination for Morecambe and Wise homage Eric and Little Ern.
