HOUSE of Blakewell and Hannah Elsy Productions are presenting Everything is Absolutely Fine at Camden People’s Theatre (April 7 to April 11, 2020) and on tour.

A brand-new comedy musical about anxiety disorders, caring, and trying to keep going, Everything is Absolutely Fine is about what it’s like to be human and to struggle.

Alice is making a fresh start. She has moved out of the big city to a small town with a job she loves as an Occupational Therapist. She is going to be a new woman: cool, calm, and free. But her old friend Anxiety has other ideas… How do you make friends when even choosing what to have for dinner fills you with dread and self-doubt? What do you do when it all gets too much?

Creator Alice Keedwell said: “We want to explore everyday human struggles and how anxiety can affect every little thing in life. Also, the impact that trying to hide how you feel can have. We want to create a show that brings people together to share in our vulnerabilities, to continue talking openly about mental health issues and to remember the importance of small acts of kindness and how important they can be to someone.”

Everything in Absolutely Fine also stars Alice Keedwell and Simon Haines, whose screen work includes Benedetto in Knightfall, Sherman in Should We Bomb Auschwitz? and several short films.

Haines extensive stage work includes The Mousetrap (West End), Europe After the Rain (Mercury Theatre, Colchester), Posh (Nottingham Playhouse/Salisbury Playhouse), The Rubenstein Kiss (Nottingham Playhouse/Yvonne Arnaud), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Orange Tree Theatre), the European premiere of Mart Crowley’s For Reasons That Remain Unclear (King’s Head Theatre) and Hamlet (Elsinore Castle).

Simon Haines

Haines said: “I’m thrilled to be joining such a lovely and talented team, working on this smart, funny, insightful show. It’s hilarious but also touching. It’s about something that affects all of us at some stage in our lives – our mental health. Alice’s script has so much to say that will resonate with people and make them laugh and squirm and then laugh again. And if you’re anything like me, it will really open your eyes to the way you talk to yourself – that ongoing inner dialogue that’s always ticking away. I can’t wait to start rehearsals.”

Everything is Absolutely Fine is written by Alice Keedwell with music and lyrics by long term collaborator Harry Blake

Valentina Ceshi directs.

Following the London dates, Everything in Absolutely Fine will tour to Cast, Doncaster (April 14), EM Forster Theatre, Tonbridge (April 16) and Theatre Clwyd, Mold (April 17-18).

Everything in Absolutely Fine is suitable for ages 12+.

Running Time: 55 minutes (no interval).
