Enda Walsh's Misterman comes to the Jack Studio Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

PRESENTED by David Ball Productions, Enda Walsh’s Misterman runs at the Jack Studio Theatre from Wednesday, June 26 to Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Thomas Magill is Misterman.

The self-appointed guardian of Inishfree’s moral welfare. Thomas lives inside his own head but today that safe place is beginning to doubt itself. Outside, the people need to be watched though. Someone’s got to keep their eyes peeled for the bad.

But when all the words have stopped inside his head, will Inishfree and Thomas survive Thomas’s judgement day?

Misterman is described by The Arts Desk as a terrific study of religious mania, loneliness and longing.

Misterman is performed by Warren Taylor, whose credits include playing John Barker in The Angry Brigade, Petruchio in The Taming of The Shrew, Mozart in Don Juan & Mozart, Brian in Shopping and F***ing, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Inspector Abberline in A Templar, A Tanner, A Taxman and Thee, Understudy Clifford Anderson in Deathtrap UK Tour and Vincent Van Gogh in Vincent In Brixton.

Enda Walsh is a multi-award-winning Irish playwright who had his breakthrough in 1996 with his play Disco Pigs. He has had success both as a playwright and screenwriter, writing multiple stage plays, screen plays and the musical Once, which won eight Tony Awards, a Grammy and two Olivier Awards.

Misterman is directed by Alex Howarth and designed by Rachel Sampley.

Misterman contains strong language and adult themes, plus some flashing lights, and is therefore suitable for ages 16+.
