Fiddler on the Roof transfers to the Playhouse Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

FOLLOWING its sold-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Tony and Olivier Award-winning director Trevor Nunn’s revival of the classic Broadway musical, Fiddler on the Roof, is transferring to the West End – to the Playhouse Theatre where it runs from March 21 to June 15, 2019.

The theatre will be specially transformed into an immersive space for the transfer, matching the staging at the Menier.

Described as both joyous and heart-breaking, Fiddler on the Roof tells of the travails of Tevye the milkman and his wife and five daughters and features such classic songs as Sunrise, Sunset, If I Were a Rich Man and Matchmaker, Matchmaker.

Fiddler on the Roof has a book by Joseph Stein, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock.

Full casting for the West End transfer is to be confirmed.

Caroline, Or Change, starring Olivier Award-winning actress Sharon D. Clarke as Caroline Thibodeaux, continues at the Playhouse Theatre until March 2, 2019.
