New cast and new booking period for Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia!

The West End production of Mamma Mia! has marked its 19th birthday by announcing a new booking period and is now booking at the Novello Theatre until March 2, 2019. New cast members from June 11, 2018 have also been announced.

Joining Sara Poyzer (as Donna), Kate Graham (Tanya), Richard Trinder (Sam) and Damian Buhagiar (Pepper) will be Ricky Butt (Rosie), Neil Moors (Harry), Stephen Beckett (Bill), Georgia Louise (Sophie), Alec Porter (Sky), Charlotte O’Rourke (Ali), Leah St Luce (Lisa)and Eamonn Cox (Eddie).

Caroline Deverill continues to play the role of Donna Sheridan at certain performances.

Also new to the cast will be Chloe Ames, Chloe-Jo Byrnes, Adam Davidson, Luke Hall, Lauren Hampton, Jack Heasman, Zoe Humphryes, Chanel Mian, James Willoughby Moore, Dean Read, Beth Relf and Annie Southall, who will be joining Adam Clayton-Smith, Jennifer Hepburn, Stuart Hickey, Mark Isherwood, Tyler Kennington, Robert Knight, Natasha O’Brien and Katy Stredder.

Mamma Mia! is set on a Greek island where Sophie is preparing for her wedding day. Among the guests are three of her mother’s former lovers – there because Sophie is attempting to discover the identity of her father. Also present for the festivities are Sophie’s mother Donna, and her former band members.

The show is interspersed with ABBA disco classics such as Thank You For the Music, Dancing Queen, Take A Chance On Me, Super Trouper, Honey, Honey, plus the title song.

Written by Catherine Johnson, Mamma Mia! is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

In 2008, a film adaptation starred Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, while a sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is being released in July 2018.
