New musical Mythic premieres at Charing Cross Theatre

Mythic

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

MYTHIC, a new pop musical by Marcus Stevens (Book and Lyrics) and Oran Eldor (Music) will receive its world premiere at Charing Cross Theatre, where it runs for a strictly limited seven-week season from Monday, October 1 to Saturday, November 24, 2018.

Mythic turns the ancient Greek story of Persephone on its head, with the gods as chart-topping rock stars, power-hungry politicians, and professional VIPs.

In a world of Olympian celebrity, Persephone struggles between her mother Demeter’s expectations and a desire to find her own path. But her wish for independence comes back to bite her when she gets trapped in the Hell with Greece’s perennial bad boy, Hades. The journey that follows is an offbeat, emotionally-charged tale for ancient and modern times.

Produced by Steven M. Levy and Vaughan Williams for Charing Cross Theatre Productions, Mythic will be directed and choreographed by Sarah O’Gleby, with musical supervision by Chris Hatt, musical direction by Chris Ma, set design by Lee Newby, lighting design by Jamie Platt, sound design by Andrew Johnson and casting by Harry Blumenau for Debbie O’Brien Casting.

Casting has not yet been annnounced.
