New revival of John Osborne's Look Back In Anger at the White Bear Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

BIG Boots Theatre Company is presenting a revival of John Osborne’s Look Back In Anger at the White Bear Theatre – from February 25 to March 14, 2020.

Look Back in Anger is a manifestation of disagreement with the stagnation of the everyday life. Osborne finds the medicine for this stagnation in manipulation of feelings, constant change of moods and brutal honesty.

Jimmy, disillusioned by the structures of working-class life, constantly insults his beloved but upper-class wife Alison. He balances on the verge of passion and hatred that keeps everyone alive but destroys him and everyone around.

The Big Boots Theatre Company’s premiere production, Holding the Man by Tommy Murphy at the Brockley Jack in 2017, was a sell out and received a 4 star review from The Stage. Other productions include Living Latino (2018) and Moonlight Strangers (2019). Projects currently in the works include Balladina and Where is Tom.

Look Back in Anger is directed by Polish born actor and director Sebastian Palka, who has worked in theatre, film and TV in a wide range of styles, roles and forms. He is a founder of Big Boots Theatre Company and received an Offie Nomination for Holding the Man in the category of best director (2017).
