The Astonishing Singing Fish! - Jack Studio Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

FLYING Dutchman Theatre is presenting The Astonishing Singing Fish! by Tice Oakfield (words and music) at the Jack Studio Theatre – from Tuesday, April 30 to Saturday, May 4, 2019.

There’s a new show in town! Almost sold to Cirque du Soleil, this sideshow act is dreaming of the West End. But it’s a rocky road for a singing goldfish who wants to play the lead in Les Miserables. Along with his hapless scientist friend he will warm your heart with his dulcet baritone voice in this new musical comedy.

Combining a mixture of catchy songs, very silly jokes and a healthy dose of sight gags, the Human and Fish duo will have to figure out how to navigate the treacherous waters of show-business and make this dream a reality. And as expected, nothing goes to plan.

The Astonishing Singing Fish! is performed by Tice Oakfield and Leo Elso, with voices by Philippa Carson.

Devised by Leo Elso and Tice Oakfield, The Astonishing Singing Fish! is directed by Annemiek van Elst, with lighting design by Edward Justham and Oorchestration by John Holland.

The Astonishing Singing Fish! is suitable for ages 14+.

Tickets: £16, £13 concessions. To book, call the box office on 0333 666 3366 (£1.50 fee for phone bookings only) or visit brockleyjack.co.uk/.

Time: 7.30pm.

Also at the Jack Studio Theatre: a new interpretation of William Shakespeare’s King Lear (until March 30) and the European professional premier of Michael John LaChiusa’s Queen of the Mist (April 9 to April 27, 2019).
