Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THE 50-Hour Improvathon, an epic improvised comedy soap opera in 25 hilarious episodes staged over a single weekend and starring many of the world’s leading improvisers, is one of London’s must-see-to-be-believed annual comedy highlights.

This year’s offering and the 12th of its kind is entitled The Good, the Bad and the Fifty and is set in The Wild West and will pay homage to every kind of Western from Deadwood to Little House On The Prairie.

How will the little town of Wilton’s Creek handle its gun laws? Who will be its new mayor in this time of crazy political upheaval? And what happens when gunslingers, ranchers and cowgirls go without sleep for 50 hours?

It starts at 7pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 and plays in two-hour episodes continuously to Sunday, February 17 at 9pm – yes, right through the nights! – with a special ‘Family Episode’ on Sunday, February 17 at 11am that’s suitable for kids of all ages! You can drop in for any 2-hour episode or buy a full 50-hour event pass.

There is a live band and an all night bar!

Taking part are members of West End hit The Showstoppers and the Chortle Award-winning Austentatious, Dr. Who regular Dan Starkey, comedians Ruth Bratt (BAFTA-winning People Just Do Nothing and Man Down), Cariad Lloyd (Peep Show, Murder In Successville and Edinburgh Comedy Best Newcomer nominee), Pippa Evans (The Now Show and Just A Minute), members of award-winning Canadian troupe Die Nasty, Cabaret Act of the Year Sarah Louise Young, star of cult hit People Of Earth Ken Hall, and stars of the Broadway and West End productions of Mischief Theatre’s The Play That Goes Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

Full line up is to be confirmed and is subject to change.

Adam Meggido and Pippa Evans direct.
