More2Screen will be broadcasting two classic English plays live to hundreds of cinemas across the UK and Ireland at the beginning of October.

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, Shakespeare’s much-loved late romance The Winter’s Tale will be broadcast from the iconic Globe Theatre, hosted by Jeanette Winterson and Emma Freud.

Then on Tuesday, October 9 (7.15pm), Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, starring Sophie Thompson and Fiona Button, will be broadcast from the Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End.

Widely considered Oscar Wilde’s crowning achievement, The Importance of Being Earnest never loses its lustre. Described by the critics as “a comic and energetic delight” (Sunday Times ****), “exceptionally funny” (Daily Express ****) and “absolutely hilarious” (WhatsOnStage *****), Michael Fentiman’s production breathes fresh life into one of the most beautifully crafted comedies of all time.
