The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe - Leicester Square Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

FOR three nights only (January 26 to January 28, 2018), audiences are invited to journey behind the glitz and glamour and see Marilyn Monroe in the comfort of her dressing room – recreated in the aptly named “lounge” space at Leicester Square Theatre.

This marks the West End transfer of this hugely successful one-woman play, The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe, which first opened at The Blue Orange Theatre in Birmingham in July 2017.

Starring up-and-coming actress, and writer of the piece, Danielle J Gearing and originally directed by James Williams (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change/The Last 5 Years), the show promises a truthful portrayal of Marilyn’s often dark and thrill-filled life, both on screen and off.

Speaking of the latest development, Danielle said: “We are delighted to now be bringing the show to a London audience after the fantastic reaction we received in the summer”.

The piece of new-writing has been highly praised by Marilyn fans and critics alike, with ‘My Jewellery Quarter HQ’ describing the play as a “profound portrait of a tortured soul – raw, relatable and touching with some lovely light-hearted, laugh out loud moments”.

The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe is suitable for ages 14+.

Tickets: £12 – £15 – available from the Leicester Square Theatre box office by calling 020 7734 2222 or visiting
