THE Reduced Shakespeare Company are reuniting to perform two special gala performances of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at Chickenshed – on Sunday, April 7 and Sunday, April 14, 2019.

Starring the original West End cast together again for the first time in fourteen years, Matthew Hendrickson, Adam Long and Bryan Torfeh will take audiences on an irreverent, fast-paced rollercoaster ride through all of the Bard’s plays.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company’s The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) ran for a record breaking nine years playing to packed houses at The Criterion Theatre in London’s West End. When the curtain finally fell in 2005, the three original members – Hendrickson, Long and Torfeh – went on to pursue very different but no less rewarding careers.

Hendrickson became a leading light at Nanaimo Community Theatre on Vancouver island; Torfeh took the world of ballroom dancing by storm in Albania; and Long joined the writing team of Fireman Sam.

Now, after fourteen years apart, the three have kindly agreed to reunite for these special gala performances which promise to be an unforgettable spectacle.

Adam Long is a founding member/writer/director of the Reduced Shakespeare Company and started performing reduced versions at Renaissance Festivals. Long played the women’s roles because he was the one member of the troupe who couldn’t grow a beard – and he looked good in a dress! He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and the Helen Hayes Award, and is the winner of a British Independent Film Award.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is suitable for ages 12+.
