The Wild Duck - Almeida Theatre

ALMEIDA Associate Director Robert Icke is staging a new version of The Wild Duck, Henrik Ibsen’s masterpiece about the nature of truth, at the Almeida Theatre – from October 15 to December 1, 2018.

Icke’s previous work for the Almeida includes Mary Stuart, Oresteia (also West End), Hamlet (also West End and BBC2), 1984 (also West End, National and International Tours), The Odyssey, The Illiad, The Fever and Mr Burns.

His theatre credits elsewhere include The Red Barn (National Theatre), Boys, Romeo and Juliet, Decade (Headlong).

Icke has won the UK Theatre Award, the Critics’ Circle Award and the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Director, and is the youngest ever winner of the Olivier Award for Best Director.

The Wild Duck will be designed by Bunny Christie, with lighting by Elliot Griggs and sound by Tom Gibbons. Casting has not yet been announced.

Public Booking opens at 10am on Thursday, August 16.
