Trevor Nunn to direct Fiddler on the Roof at the Menier Chocolate Factory this Christmas

EVERGREEN musical Fiddler on the Roof comes to the Chocolate Factory this Christmas in a new staging by Trevor Nunn. It will run from November 23, 2018 to March 9, 2019.

Described as both joyous and heart-breaking, Fiddler on the Roof tells of the travails of Tevye the milkman and his wife and five daughters and features such classic songs as Sunrise, Sunset, If I Were a Rich Man and Matchmaker, Matchmaker.

Fiddler on the Roof has a book by Joseph Stein, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock.

Trevor Nunn is former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. He has won multiple awards for his extensive and varied work which includes Les Miserables, Oklahoma!, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, The Merchant of Venice and Summerfolk.

His previous work at the Menier Chocolate Factory includes Lettice and Lovage, Love in Idleness, which later transferred to the West End, A Little Night Music, which transferred to the West End and Broadway, and Aspects of Love.

Casting has not yet been announced.

Spamilton, an American parody, continues at the Menier Chocolate Factory until September 15. It will be followed – from September 20 to November 17, 2018 – by Pack of Lies.
