Nora Invites Deborah Hay - Where Home Is - Sadler's Wells (Lilian Baylis Studio)

Where Home Is

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

STEPHANIE McMann, Eleanor Sikorski and Flora Wellesley Wesley, AKA Nora, return to Sadler’s Wells on Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25, 2019, for the world premiere of Where Home Is, created by one of the most influential artists of postmodern dance, Deborah Hay.

Where Home Is is the first of the triptych of works under the specially commissioned programme, Nora Invites II. The programme begins with its first commissioned artist Deborah Hay, one of the founding members of America’s Judson Dance Theater.

In Nora Invites II, the dancers invite three choreographers to create new works for them to perform. The remaining two commissioned artists of the triptych are to be announced later this year.

Playing Audience takes place after the performance of Where Home Is. It is a conversation, hosted by Nora, which guides the audience through three different frames for watching dance.

Commissioned by Sadler’s Wells. Co-commissioned by DanceEast and Dance4. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
