WITH The Matrix and
Lord of the Rings trilogies
now departed, viewers may be feeling a little empty at the prospect
of nothing much to look forward to.
But worry no more. Aside from Spider-Man
2, X-Men 3 and the prospect of a fourth Indiana Jones movie,
the most interesting franchise that has yet to find a conclusion
remains Batman, who looks set for a truly great makeover, following
Warner Bros desire to get back to the darkness which made
Tim Burtons early movie so memorable.

With excitement already heightened by the prospect of having
Memento/Insomnia
director, Christopher Nolan, attached to the project, and Christian
Bale as the caped crusader, proceedings are moving forward with
great haste, concerning other members of the cast.
And in what is proving to be a distinctly British affair, Intermission
star, Cillian Murphy, has reportedly landed the role of a villain
in the fifth Batman movie.
The Irish star looks set to give Colin Farrell a run for his
money next year, off the back of successful turns in Intermission,
as well as 28 Days Later and
the upcoming Girl With a Pearl
Earring.
Murphy is quoted as saying that the characters that are a bit
darker, and a little more ambiguous are the ones which appeal
to him, especially those who are torn between good and bad.
It remains unclear, however, which villain Murphy has been cast
to play, as script details are extremely hard to come by.
