THE REVENGE of the Sith is to be the name of the third and final
Star Wars prequel, when it is released next Summer.
The name was confirmed by Lucasfilm this weekend and is sure
to further heighten anticipation of the movie, which will complete
Anakin Skywalker's path to the dark side, and his eventual fate
as Darth Vader.

The name of the film was revealed
at the Comic-Con International science fiction convention, in
San Diego, on Saturday (July 24, 2004), when a member of producer,
Lucasfilm, wore a T-shirt displaying the new film's logo.
Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm's head of fan relations, who attended
in George Lucas' place, commented: "For some time now, the
naming of a new Star Wars movie has taken on some special meaning
among core fans who love to take part in guessing games and speculation
before a title is announced.
"Let the debate begin," he added, to an audience of
6,500 people.
The Revenge of the Sith has been scheduled for a May 2005 release
and is predicted to become one of next year's biggest releases.
