Story: Jack Foley
LIVERPOOL-based, The Moonies, are set to release their third
single I Would Give It All Up For Your Love
on May 19.
The rapidly-emerging three piece release their next single off
the back of a succesful UK tour with The Buzzcocks.
Energy and dynamism is everything to The Moonies live set and,
for anyone who hasn't yet heard of them, they are best described
as looking and sounding like what a great new wave band used to
look and sound like...

The Moonies take you back to the classic days of mod-infused
rock'n'roll, to bands like The Beatles, Small Faces and The Who,
capturing the style, rawness and energy and of that golden age
of music while blending it finely with a sprinkling of post-modern
irony.
Wearing their musical hearts on their sleeves and T-shirts, The
Moonies plainly believe in songs.
With an average age of nineteen and half, the three who make
up the Moonies are the manic Keith Moonesque antics of drummer
Mike, the effervescent frontman speil from vocalist/guitarist,
Steve, with the enigmatic six footer, Ryan, hauling in the basslines.
The band has a youthful energy-espousing ageist cynicism - that
comes across in their songs, treading a not dissimilar path to
that of the likes of Supergrass and Ash, while harnessing that
with the collective sense of style founded on The Who, Beatles,
Jam, Buzzcocks et al.
