Review: Allison Browning
PERTH outfit, sQuire, having only been together for just under
a year, but they have quickly found themselves a unique and distinctive
sound, which is displayed on their recently released EP.
Their Seventies psychedelic influence is very present in each
track.

Often this is in your face, but in the tracks Lonely Soul
and Already In Me, their Eighties influences are also
exposed, with vocals and drums akin to the likes of Ride and The
Stone Roses.
Who Needs Us finds a nice balance between the unusual
mix of psychedelia and Eighties indie, but at times the Hendrix-like
guitar solos take precedence over a great dreamy mix of sound.
sQuire have found themselves a nice catchy niche and are sure
to be winners seen live.
The EP is available in select Perth stores and online at www.squire.net.au
