Steven Wilson announces Future Bites tour, including O2 Arena (2020)

Story by Jack Foley

STEVEN Wilson has announced details of The Future Bites tour – a series of European shows due to take place in September 2020.

Following the massively successful tour for 2017’s To The Bone album, Wilson and band will play eight shows at the biggest venues he’s headlined, including one at London’s The O2.

Talking about the tour, he said: “Every time I make a new album, it’s hugely important for me that it holds a unique place in my catalogue and won’t simply be more of the same. Moving into the third decade of the 21st century and my second decade as a touring solo artist, it felt like time to apply the same philosophy to the live experience.

“I want to challenge myself to create something that confronts my own notions (and hopefully the audience’s too) of how to present my music in a concert situation. This has become The Future Bites – a series of special events at larger venues, something on a grander and more immersive scale. I’m already hugely excited about them!”

The Future Bites dates are as follows (all September 2020):

17 – Nottingham Motorpoint Arena
19 – The O2, London
21 – Zenith, Paris France
23 – Mediolanum Forum Milan, Italy
25 – Kopi Arena, Oberhausen, Germany
26 – Sporthalle, Hamburg, Germany
28 – Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Holland
30 – Torwar, Warsaw, Poland

To celebrate these special shows, there will be a very limited edition vinyl edition of Wilson’s forthcoming sixth album (details TBC). All pre-orders via the UK store before 5pm on Tuesday, October 22 will receive priority access to fan ticket pre-sale for the UK shows.

Access will be provided via email at 9.30am local time on Wednesday, October 23 ahead of pre-sale launch at 10am the same day. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday, October 25.
