Foo Fighters announce extra Earl's Court date

Story: Jack Foley

FRESH from their excellent one-off show at London's Astoria on August 24, the Foo Fighters have announced an extra date at London's Earl's Court in December.

The band will also now be playing the venue on Sunday, December 18, following overwhelming demand from fans.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday, August 31.

In what is proving to be a busy period for Dave Grohl and co in the UK at the moment, the band is also teaming up with Oasis for a special Noise & Confusion concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on December 10.

Lead singer, Dave Grohl had long-promised a tour to support the recent release of the album, In Your Honour, and it would appear that the latest dates are in keeping with his desire to play the electric hard rock half of the album at arenas.

If the plan is realised, he will then take the band to smaller more intimate clubs to play out the acoustic tracks that form the second album.

Remaining confirmed dates:

December 10 - Cardiff Millennium Stadium (supporting Oasis)
Dec 11 - Birmingham NEC
Dec 12 - Glasgow SECC
Dec 14 - Manchester MEN
Dec 17 & 18 - Earls Court London
