Story: Jack Foley
THE Libertines, Nancy Sinatra and The Ordinary Boys are among
the names to have been announced for this years Morrissey-curated
Meltdown Festival, which takes place in June.
The annual event, which has previously been curated by David
Bowie and Lee Scratch Perry, always provides an excellent
showcase for some of the emerging and less well-known acts on
the world circuit, taking in music, film and literary events.
Morrisseys line-up is no exception, with plenty of dates
to look out for, taking place at the South Bank Centre, in London,
between June 11 and 27.
Highlights include performances from Sparks, who will be playing
two of their classic albums in full, the recently reformed New
York Dolls, as well as sets from confirmed supporting players,
The Libertines and The Ordinary Boys.
Never one to shirk out of the limelight, Morrissey, himself,
will be playing three nights, during which he will have the opportunity
to showcase his new material, including the forthcoming single,
Irish Blood, English Heart.
