Story: Jack Foley
CORNISH four-piece, The Wire Daisies, release their superb debut
album, Just Another Day, on September 20, through Transistor
Project.
Prior to that, the band will release the beautifully melancholic
single, Butterfly, on September 13 as a download only.
Packed full of infectious melodies and instantly memorable hooks,
Just Another Day, follows the success of their digitally
released EP, Make Everything Change, which went straight
into the Top 30 in the download chart.
The Wire Daisies have something which will appeal to everyone
with their combination of traditional singer/songwriting and gutsy
energy of today’s Brit rock.
They consist of Treana Morris (vocals), Ol Beach (keyboards),
Alden Evans (guitar) and Steve Jackson (drums). Treana, Alden
and Steve met through the Cornish gig scene and later met Ol at
a solar eclipse pasty in 1999.

Just Another Day was recorded
at Sawmills Studios with renowned producer John Cornfield who
jumped at the opportunity of working with the Wire Daisies after
hearing a demo.
John has previously worked with Oasis, Supergrass and Muse.
The music industry’s trade bible, Music Week, described
The Wire Daisies as the 'unsigned discoveries of 2003'. They have
since enjoyed success after signing with Transistor Project and
a worldwide publishing deal with EMI.
The Wire Daisies are not only building a strong fanbase in the
UK with their current tour, but also internationally as they recently
closed the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Leading Swiss newspaper, Le Matin, reviewed their performance,
saying: “They showed wonderful self-confidence and delivered
all that we were promised. A beautiful surprise to close the festival.”
