DIRECTED by Spike Lee, written by Russell Gewirtz and produced by Academy Award® winner Brian Grazer, Inside Man is the story of a tough cop, Detective Frazier (Denzel Washington), who matches wits with a clever bank robber, Dalton (Clive Owen), in a tense hostage drama.

As the dangerous cat-and-mouse game unfolds, a wild card emerges: Madeline (Jodie Foster), a power broker with a hidden agenda, who injects even more instability into an already volatile situation.

Our snap verdict: Crime thrillers don’t come much better than Inside Man, a super-slick heist movie that certainly won’t leave audiences feeling robbed.

In what is arguably Spike Lee’s most commercial and enjoyable work to date, the director has united a crackerjack cast for a complex but pleasing caper movie that pays respectful homage to the likes of Dog Day Afternoon while tipping its hat to some of the political tensions of the moment.
