Huge flames leapt into the air and The Batmobile drove down the red carpet as record-breaking Batman sequel The Dark Knight received its European premiere in London’s Leicester Square on Monday, July 21, 2008. The film’s director Christopher Nolan was joined by stars, including Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Sir Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal, at the glittering bash, which was held simultaneously with another event at the IMAX in Waterloo.
