THE Trüby Trio finally present their debut album, Elevator
Music, on Compost Records. Released on Monday, June 9, the
album features a heady fusion of different flavours, such as Brazil,
Latin and even Disco music, all of which serve to create a completely
new dance genre.
Here, the Trio take you through the tracks on the album, and
what inspired them, while click on the links for a sample of what
to expect...
1. The Rhythm Part One | written by Roland W. Appel ,
Christian Prommer
The intro was recorded with the help of keyboard player Miyabi
Sudo from Japan. Miyabi was born in Tokyo, meanwhile she lives
in Munich where she studied at the academy of music (Konservatorium),
and she also works as football correspondent for Japan. She already
played on several Trio tracks, as for example "Prima Vera".

2. Universal Love | written by Larry Mizell, Fonce Mizell,
Rodney Mizell, Roland W. Appel, Christian Prommer, Rainer, Trüby;
lyrics by Marcus Begg, Larry Mizell, Fonce Mizell , Rodney Mizell
Chris, Roland & Rainer always had a weakness for the late
70s, early 80s boogie disco sound. Not to be confused with traditional
boogie-woogie, this jam comes along hard and smooth and features
vocalist Marcus Begg on top form. The title says it all!

3. New Music | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian
Prommer
A classic Trüby Trio treatment - uplifting piano chords,
straight up beats, a little hint of percussion
there you
go: Prime-time club action.

4. Runnin' | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian Prommer;
lyrics by Wunmi
This one keeps the pace, but goes a little bit more broken. This
was recorded with the spirit of Nigeria in mind, and features
the vocals of the mighty Wunmi. The afro beat comes hard.
5. Jaleo | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian Prommer,
Rainer Trüby; lyrics by Concha Buika
Single released May 26. From Nigeria to Mallorca, we had a lovely
little flamenco session at the Soulcamp / Flamingo Studios in
Palma. Nacho Velasco, from the excellent Garito Café, brought
his cajón round and jammed with Concha Buika who gave all
her 'jaleo' out of her soul

6. Alegre 2003 | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian
Prommer, Rainer Trüby; lyrics by Marcia Montez
If you own Glücklich 4 you might be familiar with the first
notes of this one, but then Marcia Montez out of Hamburg via Brazil
comes in for a lovely chorus. Mmmhh

7. A Festa | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian Prommer,
Rainer Trüby; lyrics by Jorge Ben
Bossa Nova ain't too far away from Drum&Bass. Doubling the
beats up, keeping the Brazilian funkiness, this one comes strong
in the best Trio tradition. Organic grooves man Mike T. out of
New York spices it up with some bongo action.

8. Make A Move | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian
Prommer; lyrics by Wunmi
Get ready for the unexpected! Setting the pace with some dubby
4-to-the-floor action, and then oops: a seventeen piece Latin
orchestra comes in for some serious brass breaks. Wunmi's vocals
sweeten up this orgy in rhythm.

9. A Go Go | written by Martin Sheller, Roland W. Appel,
Christian Prommer, Rainer Trüby
This Trio classic has it all! Just think of the United Nations
spot, the "Anatomie" soundtrack, several weeks number
one in the Official German Club Charts, DJ anthem
, so we
thought these are enough reasons to put this already released
track on this album.

10. Bad Luck | written by Michael Mettke, Roland W. Appel,
Christian Prommer, Rainer Trüby; lyrics by Joseph Malik
This track came about around the High Jazz sessions. Nigerian-Scotsman
Troubadour Joseph Malik jammed with Beanfield's Michi Mettke on
keys and the Trüby Trio on a cool winter day. It all resulted
in a smooth moody D'Angelo kinda affair.
11. Lover Uncovered | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian
Prommer; lyrics by Marcus Begg, Butch Ingram
Time for a break to sit down and relax. Starting off reminiscent
of a proper 80's soul-ballad, developing into a broken R&B-affair.
Michi Mettke doing some sweet fender Rhodes licks. Tony Nirschl
attacks the authentic 70's Mini Moog, and last but not least Marcus
Begg crooning warmly like in the good old days.

12. The Swingin' Feel | written by Roland W. Appel , Christian
Prommer
On this interlude Don Freeman, Tony Nirschl and Marc Sydney Müller
jam together; so here all influences are combined.

13. Cruisin' | written by Roland W. Appel, Christian Prommer,
Rainer Trüby
1983, Chevrolet Corvette, Pacific Coast Highway, open roof: the
title says the rest

14. Satisfaction | written by Roland W. Appel, Christian
Prommer
Still reminiscing of our favourite 80's artists, those who kept
the soul: Chic, SOS Band, B B & Q Band, Cameo or even Fresh
Four. Add some beat pressure and we hope that we could satisfy
you.

15. The Rhythm Part Two | written by Roland W. Appel,
Christian Prommer
The outro... again with keyboard player Miyabi Sudo.
