30 more Days of Night on the way
Story by Jack Foley
A BELATED sequel to vampire hit 30 Days of Night is in development.
The follow-up, subtitled Dark Days, is being directed by Ben Ketai but is not expected to reunite any of the original cast members, including Josh Hartnett, Melissa George and Danny Huston.
The 2007 original, based on the comic book series by Steve Niles, focused on a remote Alaskan town that was besieged by vampires during its annual 30 days of night period. It was directed by David Slade, who is now working on another vampire franchise – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Bloody Disgusting reports that Dark Days will focus on the character played by Melissa George as she teams up with a group of vigilante vampire hunters to gain revenge on the bloodsucker responsible for orchestrating the attack on her town.
The script is being co-written by Ketai and Niles and shooting is due to begin next month in Vancouver.
Next story: Guy Ritchie to direct Lobo
